Anthony Edwards Responds to Going Down 3-0

Anthony Edwards still wasn’t able to drag the Minnesota Timberwolves to a win in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday.

The Dallas Mavericks rode a furious finish to win the game 116-107 and take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

Edwards spoke postgame about his approach to the unenviable position the Wolves find themselves in.

“I never think the sky is falling,” Edwards said. “I’m always positive, always happy. Been through the works, so the sky’s never falling for me.

“We can’t be anything but positive at this point. We can’t be negative. Try to get one win at a time.”

Edwards was also asked what stood out in the box score, and said in response, “They had 31 free-throws; we had 17.”

Edwards finished the game with 26 points, nine rebounds and nine assists on 11-24 shooting from the field.

But he took just three shots in the fourth quarter and also didn’t receive enough support from his teammates, especially Karl-Anthony Towns, who finished with 14 points on 5-18 field goal shooting and 0-8 from three.

Minnesota was simply overwhelmed by the excellent fourth quarter play of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Donic and Irving finished with 33 points each, while Daniel Gafford’s late block and dunk combination sealed the game.

“We just say one more, we need one more,” Doncic said. “Nothing done. They have an amazing team, so nothing (is) done yet. We’ve got to get one more, and then if we get one more, we need the rest.”
