Luka Doncic and Rudy Gobert Speak On Wild Doncic Game-Winner

Luka Doncic and Rudy Gobert have responded to Doncic’s incredible game-winner in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday.

Doncic appeared on the Inside The NBA panel after the game and said that while he may not be the fastest player, he knew he had Gobert’s number in the speed department.

“I mean, he’s long… He can’t move — I can’t move fast… but I can move faster than him,” Doncic said.

During his postgame press conference, Doncic also touched on his trash talk to Gobert after hitting the game-winning shot.

“So he can’t effin guard you huh?” a reporter asked Doncic, referring to what the Slovenian star appeared to say in the moment.

“I didn’t say that,” Doncic said. “I was speaking Slovenian.”

Gobert was also asked about Doncic’s trash talk.

“I didn’t see or hear it, but he says that every game. So it’s nothing new.”

Kyrie Irving, on the other, was full of praise for his superstar teammate.

“I’m amazed, I don’t use that word lightly either,” Irving said. “… I think he’s answered a lot of calls. When Luka first came into the league, there were a lot of questions on what he was going to turn out to be. I know a few people are eating their words.

“Watching him ascend into becoming an all-time great is amazing and I don’t take it for granted because I played with one of the greatest of all time, arguably the greatest of all time… I want to be supportive and continue to be an all-time great next to him, continue to show him the ropes, and let him continue to fly.”

After stealing the first two games of the series on the road, the Mavericks now head back to Dallas for Game 3 and Game 4.
