LaMelo Ball Sued For Running Over Fan’s Foot

LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets are being sued by the mother of an 11-year-old fan who suffered a broken foot when Ball ran over it on October 7.

The young fan, Angell Joseph, was trying to get an autograph from Ball at the time.

“[Angell] was like, ‘LaMelo, I love you. I love you, sign my… give me your autograph. Can you sign it for me?'” his mother Tamaria McRae told WSOCTV.com.

“I just seen my son kind of go down and I thought maybe he had dropped something.”

According to McRae, it took her son months to recover mentally and physically.

“This is his hero, his idol, and he got run over by him,” the family’s lawyer Cameron DeBrun said.

DeBrun added that no claim was filed with Ball’s insurance company to pay the medical bills because the police report didn’t list Ball’s name or his insurer.

The family claims that without that information being provided, their only available action was to file a lawsuit.

The Hornets were also named in the suit because the family wanted more safety measures in place to protect fans.

Ball has been filmed driving recklessly in the past, including speeding out of the arena and running red lights.
