Steph Curry Responds to Draymond Green Ejection

Steph Curry has opened up about Draymond Green getting ejected less than four minutes into the Warriors’ matchup with the Magic on Wednesday.

Golden State went on to beat Orlando 101-93, but Curry was visibly upset with Green getting himself kicked out of the game after arguing with the referees.

“All I’ll say is we need him,” Curry said postgame. “He knows that, we all know that. So whatever it takes to keep him on the floor, him be available.

“That’s what’s gotta happen, especially at this point of the year. Tough way to start the game…”

When asked about his frustration with the incident, Curry stressed the importance of avoiding “self-inflicted wounds” at such a critical point of the season.

“We know how important the season is, or this part of the season, and our ability to get into a rhythm and secure a play-in opportunity and give ourselves a shot,” Curry said. “You don’t want to have self-inflicted wounds when it comes to that.”

Golden State is under immense pressure to win games, with the surging Houston Rockets now a very real threat to take their play-in spot. The Rockets have won ten consecutive games despite being without Alperen Şengün, and sit just one game behind the 10th-placed Warriors.

The Warriors’ next game is against the Hornets, while the Rockets will face the Jazz. Both games are scheduled for Friday.
