D’Angelo Russell has long been the focus of a rumored trade that would send him to Atlanta in exchange for Dejounte Murray.
So when the Lakers visited Atlanta on Tuesday night, Hawks fans used the rumors to heckle Russell with chants of “we don’t want you” when he stepped to the free-throw line.

Atlanta went on to win the game 138-122 and Russell finished with just 9 points and 5 assists on 3-11 field goal shooting and 1-5 from three.
The forgettable performance put an end to what had been a stunning run for the LA guard, with averages of 27.5 points and 6.4 assists over his previous eight games.
D’ANGELO RUSSELL TRADE RUMORS
While the Lakers reportedly want to trade Russell for Murray, the Hawks are not interested in making the deal and would instead prefer Murray to be dealt to a third team in any potential deal, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.
Atlanta is more interested in Austin Reaves than they are in Russell, according to multiple reports, but it’s well known at this point that the Lakers are very reluctant to let go of Reaves.
This leaves both teams at something of a stalemate, at least until they can find additional teams to get in on the deal.
