Lakers Linked to Four New Names Ahead of Trade Deadline

Lakers fans have been calling for some roster changes to shake things up, and it appears there could be some new names to keep an eye on as the trade deadline approaches.

In addition to LA’s widely reported interest in Zach LaVine and Dejounte Murray, The Athletic’s Jovan Buha has listed numerous other potential trade targets for the Lakers. That list includes Bruce Brown and Gary Trent Jr, with the latter being a Klutch Sports client.

Terry Rozier was also mentioned, as was Jerami Grant, another Klutch Sports client.

“Each player fills at least one of the Lakers’ three needs,” Buha wrote on January 19.

Grant, 29, is averaging 21.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists this season. He’s also shooting a career-high 40.0 per cent from beyond the arc.

However, he might be a long shot for the Lakers, considering he’s in the first year of a five-year, $160 million contract and the Blazers reportedly want to keep him.

Rozier is another intriguing option. The Hornets guard is averaging career-highs in points (23.6) and assists (6.7) this season.

Rozier wouldn’t come cheap either, but he would at least be cheaper than Grant. He is in the second year of a four-year, $96 million deal and the final year of his contract is only partially guaranteed.

The NBA trade deadline is at 3 pm ET on February 8.
