Steph Curry Responds to Warriors Core Rumors

Just as everyone thinks the Warriors core has danced their last dance, they shocked everyone with an epic OT win over the Celtics and Steph Curry has spoken candidly about those core breakup rumors.

After a rare off night against OKC, Curry was a menace in the back half of the the Dubs’ 132-126 win against Boston on Tuesday.

Jaylen Brown’s ‘too small’ to Steph was like a red rag to a bull, as he finished the night with a game-high 33 points and scored the game-winner.

Klay Thompson also had a night out, after recording 24 points and putting up a clutch three towards the end of regulation.

Despite all the chatter that Golden State’s core is done, they are still fighting, and Curry directly addressed those rumors after the win.

“It’s been like that for years now, even before we won the ’22 championship,” Curry told reporters. “They always find something to nitpick, and that’s because there’s expectations for us to win. So you kind of take that in stride. For me, my approach is to dumb it down to what I said in L.A. Just figure out how to win one game at a time to give yourself some, momentum, confidence, and energy. …It’s no secret to anybody what February looks like or a playoff push, and what you need to show other teams to be a serious threat to win a playoff series or whatever the case is.”

The four-time champion knows there is a huge challenge ahead, but explained how he doesn’t mind when his back is up against the wall.

“I kind of like it right here,” It gives you a little bit of juice to stay locked in all 48 minutes at a time. It’s all clichés, but it really is a fun way to approach the game. You feel a sense of urgency and aren’t really taking anything for granted. That’s what we saw tonight.”
