NBA Trade Rumors Already Intensifying

NBA

NBA trade rumors are already swirling, just a few weeks into the season.

Here’s the latest chatter around the league:

ALEX CARUSO BACK TO THE LAKERS?

Alex Caruso was a cult hero in LA but ultimately the Lakers didn’t want to pay him and Chicago swooped with a four-year, $37 million contract offer in the summer of 2021.

Now, the Lakes regret letting Caruso go and want him back, according to an NBA executive who spoke to Heavy Sports’ Sean Deveney.

“The rumor around the Lakers was they regretted letting him go almost immediately after it happened,” the exec said. “They knew that was a mistake. He’s not the same player now, but the Lakers are worried they don’t have enough of an edge. He could be someone who helps fix that.”

ZACH LAVINE ON THE MOVE?

The Bulls blowing it up has long been considered an inevitability but they may be looking to pull the plug sooner rather than later.

The Bulls have started the season 4-7 and are ranked in the bottom 10 league-wide in offensive and defensive rating.

In terms of LaVine’s future, the Lakers, Heat and 76ers are expected to be among the teams to consider trading for him, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

JOHN WALL ATTEMPTING NBA RETURN

John Wall hasn’t been on an NBA roster since mid-February, when the Clippers traded him to the Rockets, who then waived him.

However, Wall says he’d like to reunite with former teammate Bradley Beal in Phoenix.

It remains to be seen whether he’ll be given another chance in the NBA.

CLIPPERS LOOKING TO MAKE YET ANOTHER MOVE

The Clippers are looking to make further roster changes, but their latest target is a little less splashy than their previous acquisitions of James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

There’s a “growing belief” that the Clippers will add Daniel Theis to their roster, according to NBA writer Scott Agness, citing a league source.

Theis would likely need to reach a buyout agreement with the Pacers because the Clippers aren’t well-positioned to trade for him.
