The Best Remaining Free Agents

The first few days of free agency have been action-packed but there are still some solid remaining free agents left to be snapped up.

Let’s take a look at some of the remaining crop.

Honorable mentions who aren’t listed include Jaylen Nowell, Torrey Craig, Terence Davis, JaMychal Green and Paul Reed.

POINT GUARDS

Ish Smith (Denver Nuggets, Unrestricted) – After 13 seasons with 13 different teams, the journeyman finally won a championship with the Nuggets, so his veteran presence and experience certainly wouldn’t go astray.

Kendrick Nunn (Washington Wizards, Unrestricted) – He’s only 27 years old so has some good years remaining and has shown recently he’s capable of being a starter who can shoot consistently from deep and throw the right passes.

Ayo Dosunmu (Chicago Bulls, Restricted) – The young guard has a lot of untapped potential and could turn into a solid two-way player with the right development.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Malik Beasley (Los Angeles Lakers, Unrestricted) – Beasley is one of the hottest free agents left on the market after he declined his $16.5 million player option. He is an elite scorer but his shooting percentages have been on the decline. He may end up back with the Lakers though because GM Rob Pelinka is a fan of the shooting wing.

POWER FORWARDS

Grant Williams (Boston Celtics, Restricted) – Williams may not have a whole heap of size but he has become a fantastic spot-up shooter from three and his defense is elite, where he can guard multiple positions.

Derrick Jones Jr. (Chicago Bulls, Unrestricted) – Jones Jr. has that hustle mentality and loves attacking the ball in transition, playing suffocating defense and doesn’t mind a rebound.

Christian Wood (Dallas Mavericks, Unrestricted) – Wood is able to score from three-point range as well as off the dribble, which is impressive for a big man.

PJ Washington (Charlotte Hornets, Restricted) – Washington can certainly pick-and-pop, handle the ball well and guard multiple positions.

SMALL FORWARDS

Kelly Oubre (Charlotte Hornets, Restricted) – Oubre’s game has pretty much been unchanged since he entered the league. He is explosive but his shooting remains inconsistent.

Matisse Thybulle (Portland Trail Blazers, Restricted) – A pretty impressive defender who can guard a multitude of positions while fighting for steals and blocks.

Terrence Ross (Phoenix Suns, Unrestricted) – Ross is a full of energy two-guard that can be an efficient scorer and has a deep range on his jump shot.

CENTERS

Mason Plumlee (Los Angeles Clippers, Unrestricted) – This veteran big man can finish out of the pick-and-roll and is an impressive playmaker in the short roll.

Mo Bamba (Los Angeles Lakers, Unrestricted) – The Lakers waived the big man, so he would be a solid get for any team with his willingness to shoot from deep and ability to protect the rim.
