Luka Doncic Responds to Rumors of Him Wanting Trade

Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic insists there is no truth to the rumor that he will demand a trade this offseason.

“I saw the report. I don’t know who, somebody said that I was going to request a trade,” he said on Sunday.

“It was funny because I didn’t know that was true. I didn’t say it…. I’m happy here. There’s nothing to worry [about].”

Doncic said that not only would he be staying in Dallas, but he would be trying to convince Kyrie Irving to do the same.

“I think it’s a great fit,” he said of his partnership with Irving.

“Obviously, people are going to say no. I mean, I look at the results we’re having, but you know, like I said, chemistry and relationships take time. I wish he can still be here.”

Irving will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and very few rumors have persisted quite like the ‘Irving to the Lakers’ whispers.

However, the Lakers insist they are happy with their newly re-acquired point guard D’Angelo Russell.

Then again, if LA has the opportunity to get Irving, it’s widely expected LeBron James would the team to make a run for him.
