Clippers coach Ty Lue had a lot of good things to say about Russell Westbrook when the Clippers signed him last week.
But the true test of what Lue thought of Westbrook was always going to be revealed on game nights, and with LA battling Denver in a close game on Sunday, he ended up benching the former league MVP for all of the fourth quarter and overtime.
After the game, Lue said the benching was no reflection of Westbrook.
Ty Lue said he'd kept Russell Westbrook out in the 4th and OT because he felt the team had caught a good rhythm and wanted to keep it rolling. He said he could have played Russ more.

It will be interesting to see how understanding Westbrook is of all this if it continues.
The Clippers are now 0-2 since signing the former league MVP. The Lakers, on the other hand, are 4-1 since trading Westbrook away.
Of course, this is only a very small sample size and there are a lot of other factors at play.
But if this trend continues, Westbrook is bound to face even further scrutiny.
