Josh Jackson To Sign With Toronto Raptors

Josh Jackson on the Pistons

The Toronto Raptors announced they signed forward Josh Jackson on Wednesday.

Jackson split 51 games between the Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons last season, averaging 6.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 40 percent from the field and 25.4 percent from three-point range.

The San Diego native was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the fourth overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.

He has played in 291 career NBA games (92 starts) with Phoenix, Sacramento, Detroit, and the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 6-foot-8, 207-pound forward starred in his one year at the University of Kansas, where he averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and three assists, earning All-Big 12 First Team honors and was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year.

The terms of the deal with the Raptors have not been disclosed, hinting at the likelihood that Jackson is being invited to camp on a non-guaranteed deal to fight for one of the final roster spots.

Despite not living up to the hype of being the fourth pick, Josh Jackson will try to make the Raptors roster and prove he still has a lot of gas left in the tank.
