Detroit Pistons’ head coach Dwane Casey has been placed in COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocols, per a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
Casey, 64, has extensive coaching experience at the collegiate and professional levels.
In 2018, Casey was named Coaches Association Coach of the Year and the NBA Coach of the Year – but was fired by Toronto Raptors’ President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri after failing to advance past the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs.
Casey was then hired to a five-year deal by the Pistons.
The Pistons have been mired in a rebuild for the past few years – but seem to be happy with Casey’s leadership; evidence by them signing Casey to a contract extension through 2024.
