LeBron Breaks Kobe’s Christmas Scoring Record; Lakers Lose Fifth Straight

LeBron Christmas Record

LeBron James broke Kobe Bryant’s Christmas scoring record on Saturday, but the Lakers lost their fifth straight game.

Bryant previously set the record at 395 points; James’ 39 points pushed the record to 422.

The Lakers lost 122-115 to the Brooklyn Nets; the previous four losses were to the San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

James didn’t have much help on Christmas Day.

Nine-time all-star Russell Westbrook struggled immensely, scoring just 13 points on 4-20 shooting with a team-worst +- of minus 23.

Malik Monk scored 20 points off the bench shooting an efficient 8-13 from the field.

James Harden and Patty Mills led the way for the Nets scoring 36 and 34 points respectively.

The Lakers currently sit in seventh place in the Western Conference with a record of 16-18.
