Antetokounmpo Brothers Make History as First Sibling Trio to Become NBA Champs

The Antetokounmpo brothers – Giannis and Thanasis – made history on Tuesday night by joining their younger brother Kostas ( a 2020 NBA champ) to become the first trio of siblings to win NBA titles.

Giannis and Thanasis, members of the Milwaukee Bucks, won the 2021 NBA Championship by beating the Phoenix Suns 4-2.

Kostas won the 2020 NBA Championship as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

During the trophy ceremony, ESPN reporter Malika Andrews asked Giannis how it felt to be a champion like his two brothers – his reaction was exuberantly emotive.

“A lot of people were making jokes last year when Kostas won with the Lakers, and you know, obviously the dinner table was awkward a little bit because he got the ring before me. But now me and Thanasis have a ring too so we happy,” The Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP’ Giannis said.

Thanasis was unable to celebrate with the Bucks due to Health & Safety Protocols.

Hopefully, Thanasis will get well soon so he can celebrate with his brothers atop the NBA mountaintop.
