Brooks, a 12-year head coach, will add veteran leadership to first-time head coach Billups’s staff.

The Trail Blazers have been in flux this offseason dealing with an aging roster that’s largely succumbed to injuries and inconsistent play.

As of now, it seems the front office is hoping a new coaching staff and better injury-luck will give the team new life.

The ‘Blazers are pushing the luxury-tax line with a projected $131,554,172 roster payroll for nine players, via Basketball Reference.

At some point, the team will have to decide on a definite direction to take the franchise, irregardless of coaching changes.
