The Lakers got agonisingly close to hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy on Friday night but ultimately Jimmy Butler and Miami were too hot to handle in a game that finished with LeBron James and Butler going shot-for-shot.
A missed Danny Green three and a careless Markieff Morris turnover proved costly for the Lakers, as Butler finished the night with 35 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists while James’s 40 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists went to waste.
