Lakers Change to Black Mamba Jerseys for Game 5

The Lakers have three opportunities to win the 2020 NBA Finals, but they’d like to finish it on their first time around and will go with their Black Mamba jerseys in hopes of making that happen.

The team is 4-0 this season while wearing the jerseys and seem to play with a little something extra when they wear them.

It would certainly be a fitting way to finish the season, the team’s first following Kobe’s death.

The original plan was for the Lakers to wear them in game 2 and game 7. But that was scrapped with the Lakers on the verge of the title.

“It’s always special to represent someone that meant so much, not only to the game but also to the Lakers organization for 20-plus years,” LeBron James said. “For us to honor him, being on the floor, this is what it’s all about.”

“We’re thinking about the Bryant family, of Vanessa and the daughters. They’re with us, we’re with you guys, we love you guys and hopefully, we’re making them proud by wearing these uniforms tonight and throughout the course of the postseason.”
