Sixers Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid recieved news that the ankle injury he suffered over the weekend may not be as serious as many worried it might be.

However, he will still miss Tuesday’s matchup against the sizzling Phoenix Suns.

Unfortunately, while Embiid may be able to come back sooner than expected, his injury comes at a crucial time for Philly.

The Sixers’ remaining bubble schedule features the Suns, Raptors and Rockets.

According to the Sixers, Embiid will undergo treatment and have an evaluation done on the ankle on Monday night.

He left the court on Sunday against the Trail Blazers in the first quarter.

Along with Embiid’s injury news, the Sixers also have to deal with Ben Simmons and his surgery on Monday.

Simmons will be undergoing surgery on his left knee to remove a loose body and he will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Joel Embiid is no stranger to injuries during his Sixers tenure, but Philly has a lot riding on him and Simmons to produce meaningful postseason success.
