Draymond Green has found out the hard way that five straight NBA Finals appearances can take a toll on your body.
Green recently joined Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson on “The Steam Room” podcast to discuss what it’s like for him to watch other teams make playoff pushes while he watches from home.
“Honestly, it’s been great,” Green said, via Yahoo Sports.
“I’ve had a lot of fun spending time with my family. I’ve gotten to know my fiancée better. I’ve gotten to know my kids better. That’s been amazing.”
Prior the league’s suspension of play, Green had been battling a myriad of injuries that prevented him for playing his best basketball.
The Warriors fell all the way to last place in the Western Conference due to injuries to Green, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson.
Now, the trio will have to watch a new Western Conference team go to the finals for the first time since 2014.
“When you go to the Finals, everybody is watching — including the best basketball players in the world that (are not) in that game,” Green said. “That’s always the most fun time to me, and I miss that.”
The Warriors will have a great chance to make the playoffs next year so long as Green, Curry, and Thompson are able to stay healthy.
