Zion Williamson Is Still Getting Tested Daily for COVID-19, Intends to Return to Bubble

New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson left the NBA bubble last week to attend to a family medical emergency, but the team says he is still getting tested daily for the coronavirus.

The Pelicans also said that they anticipate Williamson will return to the bubble, but gave no timetable as to when that might be.

As long as Williamson continues to test negative everyday, he will only have to quarantine for four day upon his return to the bubble.

If Williamson were not receiving daily tests away from the bubble, then he would have to quarantine for ten days upon his return.

Of course, the fine language of the NBA’s bubble protocol is not the most important thing at the moment considering that Williamson is attending to a family medical emergency.

It’s not known for certain whether or not Williamson will return to the bubble.

The Pelicans are scheduled to play the Utah Jazz on July 30.

For Williamson to be eligible to play, he’d have to arrive back in the bubble by July 26.
