Brooklyn Nets Spencer Dinwiddie Tests Positive for COVID-19, Opts Out of Orlando

Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie

The running list of players continues to grow for the Brooklyn Nets, as Spencer Dinwiddie tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be in Orlando.

He joins DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Taurean Prince in players that will not be there.

The Nets don’t look to be competing for anything this year, and will start to look towards returning healthy next year.

They currently sit in the seventh seed in the East. They will more then likely have to play a play in game with the Washington Wizards.

The Orlando Magic will mist likely pass them for the seventh seed leaving Washington and Brooklyn playing to get into the playoffs.

Furthermore the Wizards will be without Davis Bertans, John Wall and Bradley Beal.

So the Nets could very likely still get into the playoffs and then be an early four game exit to the Milwaukee Bucks. As the Nets still possess Caris LeVert who could take over in a game vs Washington.

But neither team will be motivated to win that game and will be looking towards the lottery.

The list of players continues to grow testing positive for the virus.

It will be interesting to see how the NBA handles it if and when someone is infected in the bubble. It could very well happen and the NBA needs to be prepared for it and how they will handle that situation.

As players continue to drop out and Florida cases continuing to spike.

It makes for uncertain times and a championship that may be as hard to get as ever.
