Brandon Ingram’s Free Agency Stock Rises With All-Star Season

Brandon Ingram and the rest of the New Orleans Pelicans are still waiting to see if they’ll return to the hardwood this season, but the All-Star forward’s elevated play is expected to garner him some additional looks during free agency.

Ingram isn’t necessarily a marquee name or the best player available, but he will probably be the best listening to offers.

With stars such as Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, and Gordon Hayward expected to re-sign with their perspective franchises, Ingram, a restricted free agent, can consider offers from around the league.

Ultimately, the Pelicans could match any offer, and with Ingram’s play on the court, most are expecting New Orleans to hold onto the forward, according to NBCSports.com.

The team’s general manager, David Griffin, recently took to Twitter to comment on Ingram’s play.

Ingram, whose 2018-19 season ended early after a blood clot diagnosis, has flourished with the team since being traded by the Lakers last summer, increasing his scoring average to 24.3 points and a career-best 4.3 assist per game so far this season.

His improved jump shot along with his on-court chemistry with rookie Zion Williamson has helped put the Pelicans in position to grab the 8th seed in the West if and when play resumes.

The Pelicans are expected to offer Ingram a max contract keeping him and the fans happy for at least another year or two.
