Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Sports Academy Is Coming To L.A. And It Sounds Insane

Kobe Bryant Mamba Sports Academy

Kobe Bryant is proving to be as relentless in his post-NBA life as he was during his 20 year career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Mamba has had win after win off the court – from earning an Oscar for his short film, Dear Basketball, to making over $200 million after investing in BodyArmor sports drinks.

Now Kobe and Sports Academy are combining to create the MAMBA Sports Academy, a 100,000 square-foot training facility in Thousand Oaks, California.

The MAMBA Sports Academy will have five basketball courts, five volleyball courts, two beach volleyball courts, a turf field, batting cages, pitching mounds, a Gracie Barra jiu jitsu school and an esports training arena.

“MAMBA Sports Academy is a natural expansion of my commitment to educating and empowering the next generation of kids through sports,” Bryant said, via ESPN’s Arash Markazi.

“We focus on offering a premium experience on proper training for young athletes and infuse a little ‘Mamba Mentality’ into their programs.”

The Mamba released a video to celebrate the new collaboration too.

Kobe’s known for his insane work ethic, so whoever attends the MAMBA Sports Academy better get used to 4am wake ups and never being able to eat sugar and pizza. Ever.

How are esports players supposed to function on early wake ups and no sugar though? Sleep-ins and energy drinks are their fuel!

But if there was anyone you’d want to train you it’s Kobe Bryant, and add premium facilities into the equation and it’s a dream come true for young sports stars.
