Draymond Green Creeps Closer to History After 26th Career Ejection

Green

Draymond Green is scarily close to becoming the most ejected player in NBA history after a scuffle in the Warriors’ win over the Suns.

With 10 minutes left in the third quarter, Draymond was knocked to the court while under the hoop defending Khaman Maluach.

Green hopped up and immediately grabbed Maluach and was called for a personal foul, before he tossed Maluach to the court after the whistle for what officials called a “throwdown”. It led to the first technical.

Who else but Dillon Brooks ran over to confront him for his actions. The pair needed the be separated as players from both sides ran in to join the scuffle.

“I was just trying to de-escalate it,” Brooks said. “He was just tweaking all game.”

He now has the SECOND-MOST ejections in NBA history.

-Rasheed Wallace – 29

-Draymond Green – 26

-DeMarcus Cousins – 18

-Dwight Howard – 17

The officials called a double technical on Green and Brooks after review, meaning an automatic ejection for Green.

Stever Kerr wasn’t worried in the slightest and even downplayed the situation.

“That’s just the greatest NBA basketball players on earth competing,” Kerr said. “Nothing serious happened.”

Steph Curry went as far to say the ejection inspired the Warriors’ comeback.

“He lit a fire in all of us,” Curry said of Green. “We had to respond. I’m glad we did.”

Kendrick Perkins wasn’t as forgiving as Steph and Kerr.

“When was the last time we discussed Draymond Green and brought up him for his basketball and not fighting?” Perkins said on First Take.

“At some point, he has to deliver on the floor, and when you look at the start of this season, Draymond Green has been non-existent. He has done absolutely nothing for the Golden State Warriors. To me, he has been a liability more than an asset. And when you look at Steph, yes, he’s always gonna protect Draymond Green because of their brotherhood.”
