Anthony Edwards Worried Baby Mama Wasting Child Support on Gambling

Edwards

Anthony Edwards is seeking to have part of his $14,000 monthly child support payments placed in a trust, amid concerns that the money could be spent on sports gambling.

The Timberwolves star claims Alexandria Desroches, the mother of his son Amir, gambled on DraftKings dozens of times per month in 2025 while arguing that his child support payments were insufficient, according to court documents obtained by TMZ,

Edwards also alleges Desroches failed to disclose certain income, including cash tips from a second job, and overstated expenses related to raising their son.

The 25-year-old is now asking for a portion of his payments to be managed by a trustee, who would oversee how the money is distributed.

However, Desroches has pushed back against the request, disputing Edwards’ concerns about her gambling.

She acknowledged placing bets on DraftKings but said they were generally around $10 and were “placed out of boredom.” She also claimed her records showed a net total of $998.20 in DraftKings activity for 2025, adding that she has since stopped using the account.

Desroches also raised concerns about Edwards’ involvement in their son’s life, claiming he has not sought parenting time and has never met Amir in person. She also questioned whether he had ever sent their son a gift.

Edwards was previously ordered to pay $14,000 per month in child support following a court ruling in August.

The proposed trust arrangement remains a request amid the ongoing dispute, with no reported ruling approving the change.
