Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is facing a DUI charge stemming from his arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona, earlier this year.

Brooks was charged Monday with driving under the influence following the March incident and is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 28, according to court records obtained by ESPN.

The Suns have since acknowledged the charge but indicated the organization has already dealt with the situation internally.

“This charge stems from the incident last March,” Suns senior vice president of communications Stacey Mitch said in a statement to ESPN. “We have addressed the matter with Dillon and have no further comment.”

Dillon was arrested by Scottsdale police during a traffic stop at approximately 1 a.m. on March 6. A source close to Brooks told ESPN at the time that the arrest was related to marijuana.

The 30-year-old is now facing a Class 1 misdemeanor charge. His representatives did not immediately respond to ESPN’s requests for comment regarding the case.

It isn’t the only ongoing legal matter Brooks has in Scottsdale.

Brooks is also facing a separate misdemeanor reckless driving and speeding case stemming from an incident in January. That case is moving toward trial, with a trial readiness conference scheduled for Nov. 9, according to ESPN.

The legal developments come as Brooks prepares for his 10th season in the NBA and another year with Phoenix.

Brooks is coming off the best scoring season of his career, averaging 20.2 points per game. He has since agreed to a three-year, $73 million contract extension that will keep him under contract through the 2029-30 season.

Across his NBA career, Brooks has averaged 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and two assists per game while playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and Suns.

Brooks’ immediate attention will now turn toward the upcoming season with Phoenix, while his two separate cases continue through the Scottsdale court system.
