Bam Adebayo & Tyler Herro Involved in Heated Confrontation

Tensions between former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro reportedly boiled over in Las Vegas on Friday.

The pair were involved in a physical altercation at a practice court inside a Las Vegas hotel after Adebayo confronted Herro over comments the Bucks guard allegedly made about him on social media following his offseason departure from Miami, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Sources told Charania that Adebayo struck Herro in the head area during the incident.

Just hours before news of the confrontation surfaced, Herro appeared on Prime’s Summer League broadcast while attending the Heat’s matchup with the Bucks and spoke positively about his former team.

“It’s all love in Miami,” Herro said. “I’ve seen a couple of the guys, coaching staff, Chris Quinn, Spo [Erik Spoelstra], the front office guys; we are all good in Miami. Just an opportunity for both sides to reset, get a fresh start, and both are super happy with this.

“An organization like Miami, they want championships, they play for championships. It’s part of the business. I know how good I am, what I am capable of. I just got to continue to keep working and try to stay healthy and represent this new team how I am supposed to.”

The reported dispute is believed to stem from screenshots that circulated online after Herro was traded to Milwaukee. In the alleged Instagram direct messages, Herro appeared to question Adebayo’s defensive consistency and whether the three-time All-Star’s effort matched his reported $60 million annual salary.

Neither organization has provided any details about what happened.

The Heat released a brief statement saying, “We are aware and not commenting.”

The Bucks also declined to comment, while new Milwaukee head coach Taylor Jenkins was asked about the incident during an appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“I don’t really know all the specifics,” Jenkins said before adding that he had “no comment.”

Herro was later seen greeting several Bucks Summer League players following the game and spending time with former Heat teammate Jaime Jaquez Jr. before leaving the arena without addressing the reported altercation.
