Authorities in Fort Bend County say the incident unfolded late on November 14th after Beverley’s sister left the house without permission to meet her boyfriend. When she returned, her mother instructed her to call the boyfriend back to the residence, and then contacted Beverley, who later arrived at the home.

What allegedly happened next was described in deeply disturbing detail.

According to the affidavit, the sister told officials that Beverley “grabbed her by her neck with both hands, and picked her up off the ground, by having her feet come up from the floor.” She reported that the pressure made her feel as though she was “losing oxygen and unable to breathe,” estimating the choking lasted “between 20 and 30 seconds.”

She also stated that Beverley took her out of the bedroom “by the neck” before slamming her against the walls of an open room in the house.

The affidavit says she told investigators that Beverley then laid her on the sofa, stood over her and punched her “approximately one time on her left eye with a closed fist.” She further claimed Beverley warned her that “he will be the family relative to kill her,” according to the report.

Officials said they observed markings on the sister’s neck as well as petechiae in the whites of her eyes, consistent with her account. The boyfriend, who was present during parts of the incident, reportedly left the home before later calling police for assistance.
