Mark Cuban’s NSFW Take On Luka Doncic After Lakers Trade

Luka

There was a time when Mark Cuban’s support for Luka Doncic seemed unwavering. Back in 2020, the longtime Dallas Mavericks owner even joked that he “would’ve divorced his wife before he got rid of the Slovenian.”

But with Doncic now wearing a Los Angeles Lakers jersey, Cuban’s stance has taken a turn.

Cuban admitted he’s no longer a diehard fan of the player who once defined his franchise.

“Yeah, of course,” Cuban said when asked if he was a diehard Doncic fan during his time in Dallas, via The Arena.

When asked on whether he still feels that way now, his response was blunt: “Course not.”

While Cuban made it clear he still holds Doncic in high regard personally, he isn’t pulling for his success with the Lakers.

“Off the court, love Luka to death,” he said. “On the court, f*** him. I don’t want him to get hurt or anything.”

Cuban also explained how his disdain for the purple and gold started young.

“They have the same colors as my high school — I threw my high school gear away,” he said. “… I’m gonna hope they go 0-82. I love Luka to death. He is a great guy … Luka is a good guy, but f*** the Lakers.”

Doncic’s six full seasons in Dallas included four playoff appearances, a trip to the 2024 NBA Finals, and 80 triple-doubles, far more than any other Maverick in franchise history.

He averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 422 regular-season games.

As Doncic now looks to deliver the Lakers an 18th championship in 2026, Cuban’s words leave no doubt about where his loyalty stands.
