Draymond Green Fires Back at Alperen Sengun

Even in the middle of the offseason, Draymond Green never misses an opportunity to let his voice be heard.

When Alperen Sengun sat down and reflected on Houston’s seven-game playoff exit against Golden State, he didn’t hold back.

“They’re a very experienced team,” Sengun said on Socrates Dergi podcast. “They fouled a lot. In the playoffs, they don’t call it. But they were the ones crying all series about fouls not being called.”

It didn’t take long for Green to clap back. The four-time NBA champion jumped on Threads and posted.

“That’s a tough thing to say after you lose,” Green wrote. “You have to win to [say] stuff like that.”

Green made sure to punctuate his point one more time, reposting Sengun’s remarks with a blunt response, “Hold that L.”

The series itself was brutal from start to finish. Technicals, ejections, and plenty of whistles defined the matchup, but the numbers tell a different story than Sengun’s version. Golden State was called for 150 fouls across the seven games, while Houston finished with 124.

In fact, the Warriors had more fouls in six of the seven contests, including Game 6 when they were hit with 30 compared to Houston’s 18. Game 7 ended with both teams dead even at 14.

That didn’t matter in the end. Behind Buddy Hield’s historic performance in the decisive game, the Warriors advanced to the second round, leaving Sengun and the Rockets heading into the offseason.

The next chapter in this budding rivalry won’t have to wait long. Golden State hosts Houston on November 26 at Chase Center, just one day before Thanksgiving.
