Sabrina Ionescu left Indianapolis with another trophy, and a little revenge.
The New York Liberty star captured her second WNBA three-point contest crown Friday night, scoring 30 points in the final round – that ties for the second most in contest history, trailing only her own record of 37 from 2023.
“It means everything. The last time I was here in Indy against Steph, I lost,” Ionescu said on ESPN’s broadcast while clutching her new hardware. “So I feel like I had to come back and redeem myself.”

The last time she referenced was her memorable three-point shootout with Warriors star Steph Curry during the 2024 NBA All-Star weekend in Indianapolis. Curry narrowly edged her out, 29 points to 26.
This time, Ionescu got the last laugh. After securing the win over Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, she even called Curry to show off her trophy.
“I called Steph after and was showing the trophy off because last time he beat me when we were here in Indy,” Ionescu said via Deyscha Smith of The Next.
Ionescu capped off the night with Curry’s signature “night night” celebration, adding her own flair to the victory.
Gray, the defending champion, put up 22 points in the final round after both she and Ionescu scored 25 in the opening round to advance.
The Liberty’s dominance didn’t end there. Teammate Natasha Cloud won the skills challenge earlier in the evening.
