The Latest Kevin Durant Trade Rumors

Durant

A Kevin Durant trade has been imminent for months now, and now it looks like we have timeline.

The Suns have ramped up their pursuit of a Durant trade, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.

“Phoenix is aggressive in pursuit of a) trading Kevin Durant and b) regaining full control of their draft capital starting with the No. 10 pick in next month’s draft, team sources said. Since the conclusion of the season, Houston has fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant, those sources said,” Iko wrote.

Arizona based insider John Gambadoro also believes the Suns are aggressively trying to trade KD and that he will likely be moved around the same time as the NBA Draft.

Brian Windhorst also said in late May that a Durant trade is most certainly in the works.

“Kevin Durant, I’m like 98% sure he’s not going to be a Sun next year,” Windhorst said. “How it works out? I’m about 1% sure [that it will]. There’s going to be a number of teams interested, but some of it is going to depend on whether Durant is a player they keep on a one-year contract or they want to give him a contract extension, which I suspect he’s going to want.”

So where will KD end up?

Many are tipping the Timberwolves.

Minnesota are reportedly looking to trade for an “alpha” and are expected to pursue the four-time Olympic gold medallist, per Sam Amico.

“The Timberwolves need another ‘alpha’ next to Edwards to win it all, which is why sources told Hoops Wire that Minnesota is expected to pursue a Durant trade again this offseason.”

Other teams that KD could land at include the Rockets, Knicks, Spurs, Cavs, Warriors, Bucks, Clippers and Heat.
