The Biggest Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Rumors Right Now

Giannis

Since the Bucks were eliminated by the Pacers in the first round again, the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors are heating up.

Rumor #1 – Greek Freak v Alien x Fox

The Spurs are “expected to ask about Giannis as they are committed to putting together a contending team now with Wemby,” NBA insider Jake Fischer reported this week.

He added, “You best believe they would call about Giannis Antetokounmpo.”

San Antonio have 36 future draft picks over the next seven years and one of the cleanest salary sheets in the league

Rumor #2 – Giannis Rockets to Houston

The Rockets may be putting up a fight against the Warriors, but their 12th-ranked offense is just not good enough.

The Athletic deem the Rockets as “most obvious candidate for Giannis.”

The Ringer proposed the following trade between the Bucks and the Rockets.

Milwaukee Receive: Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, and first-round picks in 2025 and 2027, plus one of the Suns’ future firsts

Houston Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Rumor #3 – Could Brooklyn Net Giannis?

This one isn’t new as the Bucks star has been long rumored to the Nets.

The Athletic’s John Hollinger breaks down why Brooklyn makes perfect sense.

The Nets have “enough cap room to swallow other Milwaukee contracts (maybe not Lillard’s, but could the Nets take Connaughton and Kuzma?). The Nets can’t put a talent like Thompson in a trade, but they have four firsts in 2025 (likely pick Nos. 6, 19, 26 and 27), an unprotected Suns swap in 2028, three unprotected future firsts from the Knicks and all of their own future draft picks available in a trade. The combined cap relief and draft capital is a pretty rare package, especially with the Bucks’ recent tax issues.”

As for what Antetokounmpo is actually thinking about his future right now? It’s been difficult for insiders to gauge as his focus is on the Bucks, Brian Windhorst says.

“There has been zero speculation about Giannis and his future,” said Brian Windhorst on NBA Today. “He’s worked very hard and so has his representation to shut down anything. He has been completely focused on the Bucks. So therefore this is basically a bit of a mystery. It might be a mystery within the organization a little bit. It’s definitely a mystery for other teams out there. Whether he would want to get moved and who would potentially be on a list of interested teams.

“Which means this is going to be one of the biggest things hanging over the NBA offseason. And other players, potentially even star players who might end up on the trade market might have to wait themselves to see how Giannis’ situation plays out because teams are going to see him as the biggest fish.”
