Luka Doncic Admits He’s Feeling Like Himself With the Lakers

Luka Doncic said he’s feeling like himself more and it showed on the court after the Lakers ended the Nuggets’ nine-game win streak and Luka had his best game with the purple and gold to date.

During the on court interview after the 123-100 win, the ESPN’s Lisa Salters pretty much asked Luka, who got him smiling like that?

“Just finally feeling like myself a little bit,” Doncic said. “You know, playing this game, this is all I love, so I’m just finally being myself a little bit. That’s why I was smiling the whole game.”

Doncic ended the night with a game high 32 points, ten rebounds, seven assists, one block, four steals on 44.4 from deep and 45.5 percent from the field. And the Lakers beat the Nuggets for the first time in almost three years.

“He was super dialed in,” LeBron James said of Doncic. “He was very locked in on what he wanted to do out here on the floor tonight. Once he started hitting those step-back 3s and got to yelling and barking, either at the fans or at us, or himself.”

Redick said after the game he wants Luka to have more say in the team’s offense.

“I think Luka needs to be the guy that controls the offense,” Redick said. “And Bron and AR, because we’re going to stagger everybody, they’re going to have their times to be on the ball. But all three of those guys are very intelligent basketball players, and we can create mismatches. We can get teams in the blender.”

There is definitely a new energy in Los Angeles right now and Luka is a huge part of that.

“I think our goal is — not I think, I know our goal is to win a championship,” Doncic said. “That’s our only goal. And I think we have the team for that.”
