The Latest De’Aaron Fox Trade Rumors

Fox

A massive new development involving De’Aaron Fox has happened ahead of the trade deadline, that may look to change the whole landscape.

Shams dropped the bombshell today that the Kings “are expected to open up talks for a potential De’Aaron Fox trade ahead of the Feb. 6 deadline.”

The 27-year-old star has has one year left on his contract before he hits free agency in the summer of 2026 and has subsequently declined multiple extension offers from Sacramento.

The one-time All-Star has a preferred destination in mind that hasn’t yet been revealed by his associates, according to multiple sources.

The Spurs have been seen as a great fit for Fox alongside rising star Victor Wembanyama.

ESPN Sacramento broadcaster James Ham later reported “preferred landing spot” is in fact San Antonio, should he request a trade.

“This is a massive new domino into the NBA landscape,” Ham said. “He has the ability to change the complexion of any team he arrives to.”

Sam Amick of The Athletic provided further insight into where else Fox may end up.

“…Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, recently informed the Kings that it would be wise to move him sooner rather than later. Even if it’s not to the team of his choosing,” Amick wrote.

According to the league source, Paul is expected to field all calls from interested teams and remain open about where Fox might land. Despite Paul’s longtime relationship with Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, league sources say that’s not the destination of choice. The Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Clippers are all teams that were known to have some interest in the possible pursuit of Fox in the past.”

Safe to say, this gives some much needed relief from the Jimmy Butler trade circus.
