DeMar DeRozan recently spoke about just how dominant LeBron James was during his peak and how no player or team could dethrone the King.
DeRozan was playing for the Raptors at the time, who managed to win two games against LeBron in Games 3 and 4 of the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals.
Following on from that, Toronto lost ten straight playoff games against LeBron and the Cavs. Two of those were sweeps.
“Yeah, that motherf***er was impossible to beat,” DeMar said on Club 520 podcast. “It’s just what it was, it was no other way around it. At that time, I have arguments with people because they ask me which Bron was the best, that Miami ‘Bron and that second Cleveland Bron… He controlled everything from top to bottom. Once you stepped on that floor, it was stuck, bro. He one of the greats for a reason.”
Jeff Teague was also on the podcast and admitted that his playoff record against James is 0-12.
“I’ve never won a Playoff game against him,” Teague said. “I have been in four series against him and got swept four times. One time we were up 30, and I was playing for the Pacers. We were up 30, Game 3, and I was like, ‘I’ll finally beat this dude.’ He walks into halftime and says, ‘We good. ‘Everybody keep their head up.’ They were down just eight in the third quarter and I was like, ‘It’s over.’ I just wanted one win.”
To this day, LeBron still absolutely dominates the league and schools players more than double his age.
He will turn 40 years old in December and is still earning a massive $48.7 million salary in the 2024-25 season.
