Carmelo Anthony Explains What Went Down Between Him and Bogdan Bogdanovic at the Olympics

Carmelo Anthony has responded to Bogdan Bogdanovic doing his iconic “three to the dome” celebration right in front of him at the Olympics.

While some perceived the move as disrespectful, Anthony says it was quite the opposite.

“That’s my son right there,” Anthony said on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast. “I’m not even saying nothing to Bogi. I’m like, as he’s playing, he make a shot, ‘Oh, I like that Bogi, I see you’. I’m talking that sh*t to him. So I appreciate everybody takin’ my side, but the real sh*t was, he was showing love.

“I really wanted to cheer. I’m like, ‘I can’t show no emotion, just accept what comes with it’. I really wanna be like, ‘Yo that was crazy’. I wanted to point at him. That probably was one of the greatest games I’ve ever, ever been to.”

It’s worth noting that Bogdanovic has been doing the “three to the dome” celebration for a long time, so this was hardly something he whipped out just because Carmelo was in attendance.

And while someone else using Anthony’s iconic celebration could be interpreted as a bold move, the Serbian sharpshooter backed it up with his play.

Bogdanovic scored 20 points against the US in the semifinal and averaged 18.3 points per game on 46.2 percent three-point shooting across the Olympics.
