After going down by 30 points in Game 3 to the Lakers, Warriors shooting guard Steph Curry is keen for his side to fight their way back into the series.
This certainly isn’t the first time Curry has had his back up against the wall in a playoffs game.
The prolific shooter told reporters after practice Sunday that he is excited to play in LA once more before heading back home for Game 5, while reflecting on series where they’ve been down.
“There’s been a lot of of them,” Curry said. “Talk about about Memphis, the very first [championship] run that we had, to Houston in ’17 and ’18 for different reasons. “Memphis last year. Game 4 in Boston last year.”
“There’s a lot of things you can kind of tap into in terms of experiences that we’ve had where we’ve been on the road kind of against the ropes, and we responded. This is a very similar situation, but it requires something different based on this team. And I’m excited about that opportunity.”
One big concern for Golden State has been the performances of shooter Jordan Poole, who is is averaging 11.6 points, 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds on 35.5 percent shooting from the field and 28.8 percent from beyond the arc in his last ten playoffs games.
For context, Poole averaged 20.0 points, 5.1 assists and 3.4 rebounds on 52.6 percent shooting from the field and 43.1 percent from the 3-point line in his first ten playoff games last season.
Curry says that the team are standing by their 23-year-old teammate, no matter his stats in these crucial games.
“We are all extremely confident in what he provides for us, what he can do out there and keeping it positive, just how you approach the game,” Curry said. “And that’s what I love about him. He has great energy and making or missing the shots, it’s going to happen.”
Game 4 of the Warriors-Lakers series will take place on Monday, 8th May at 7:ooPM PT.
