Kevin Durant was excited to play in Phoenix for the first time yesterday until he slipped in the warm up, was ruled out, and left the Footprint Center in a walking boot.
Unfortunately, KD has suffered a grade 2 ankle sprain as a result of the slip and will now miss time. But the Suns are hopeful he won’t miss much more than two weeks, according to Shams Charania.
The Suns and Durant are hopeful of progress during the re-evaluation window that allows for the 13-time All-Star to return to action shortly after two weeks, sources said. Good news for KD and Phoenix following scary fall in warmups. https://t.co/BJmSPdBwMx

The Arizona Republic had initially reported Durant could be out between four and six weeks, which would have been especially problematic considering the playoffs start in less than five weeks.
“I feel bad for him because he feels bad,” Suns coach Monty Williams said. “I saw his face and — I’ve been around him so many times — I know what he’s feeling, and I don’t want him feeling that way at all.”
Durant has played just three games with the Suns since being traded from Brooklyn in early February as he was recovering from a knee injury.
The team is 3-0 with Durant in the lineup and were still able to secure a 132-101 win over Oklahoma City yesterday.
