The Indiana Pacers have agreed to trade guard Caris LeVert and a 2022 second-round pick via the Miami Heat to the Cleveland Cavaliers for guard Ricky Rubio, a 2022 lottery-protected first-round pick, a 2022 second-round pick via the Houston Rockets, and a 2027 second-round pick via the Utah Jazz, per a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
This season, LeVert, 27, is averaging 18.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists on 45%/32%/76% shooting splits.
LeVert is eligible for an extension this summer – which could be in excess of $20 million AAV.
Rubio, 31, was averaging 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists on 36%/34%/85% shooting splits before being shut down for the season with a torn ACL.
Indiana receives a strong package in the deal; including Cleveland’s first-rounder and a Houston second-rounder that will probably be in the 31-35 range.
This could be the beginning of a fire-sale in Indiana.
Woj reports that both Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis are being discussed in trade-talks.
