Struggling Celtics Lose in Embarrassing Fashion to Suns

The struggling Boston Celtics lost in embarrassing fashion 90-111 to the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, leading many to wonder if changes are on the horizon in Beantown.

“It’s completely on us as players to take ownership, put a stop to something if you don’t like it,” Celtics’ big-man Robert Williams said after the game, via NBA.com.

“Can’t blame it on anybody else.”

The Celtics lost four of five on their West coast road-trip, including a bad loss to the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers.

“Guys have been in and out all year and we’ve played a certain way, and we haven’t [played in such a way] the last three games specifically,” Celtics’ head coach Ime Udoka said.

“Jaylen being out, you don’t throw somebody in and it’s all peaches and cream. You still have to play the game, and play with the proper respect and effort, and we didn’t do that the last three games. So we’ll look at a lot of things coming off this trip.”

Jaylen Brown – who’s averaging 21.4 points and 5.2 rebounds – traveled with the team but did not play during the trip.

Still, there’s clearly something wrong with the Celtics.

It seems a front-office change and a brand new coaching staff has done little to change the selfish basketball fans have grown accustomed to seeing the past few years.

At this point, the Celtics might have to consider trading one of their core-three of Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, or Jayson Tatum; which would’ve sounded inconceivable a couple years ago.
