NBA 2K developer Visual Concepts has revealed the highest rated rookies for the newest iteration of its annual basketball simulation franchise: NBA 2K22.
Unsurprisingly, Detroit Pistons’ guard/forward Cade Cunningham – who was picked #1 overall – is ranked the highest at an 80 overall.
Cunningham is followed by the #2 pick: Houston Rockets’ guard Jalen Green at a 79, the #3 pick: Cleveland Cavaliers’ center Evan Mobley at a 78, the #5 pick: Orlando Magic’ guard Jalen Suggs at a 77, and the #4 pick: Toronto Raptors’ forward Scottie Barnes at a 76.

“In my rookie year, I want to be around an 88,” Cunningham said.
Green predicted his rookie rating would be an 80 and wasn’t far off.

Clearly, this year’s rookies were either tipped off to their ratings or had studied the ratings history of 2K.
Visual Concepts has yet to show off any gameplay for the current-gen or next-gen version of NBA 2K22 – which has caused many fans to worry about the state of the game.
NBA 2K22 is set to launch on September 10 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
