Austin Reaves’ Hilarious Response to Alex Caruso Comparisons

Reaves Caruso Comparison

Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves is consistently in the rotation this season and has become somewhat of a cult favorite among LA fans.

He even made it into the top ten for All-Star voting for guards in the West.

Reaves is averaging 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting 48.8 percent from the field.

The way Reaves stumbled into a role and is doing it well isn’t too dissimilar to former Lakers backcourt player Alex Caruso.

24-year-old Reaves often finds himself being compared to Caruso, who was affectionately nicknamed ‘GOAT’ by his fans and teammates but Reaves said he doesn’t see too much of a similarity.

“Totally different players, but we’re guys that played on the Lakers, and we’re white,” Reaves told HH. “We don’t really look athletic. He’s athletic, but I’m not that athletic. I can see why people do it, but we’re two totally different players.”

Despite Reaves clearing things up, we’re sure people will still draw the comparison.

Caruso himself paid Reaves the ultimate compliment back in 2021, when he said: “…he appears to be one of those good glue guys that winning teams need. I think he’s a lot farther along than I was during my first year in the league. I think we have the same mindset of getting better and working hard.”

It isn’t the worst thing in the world to be compared to a GOAT.
