Kawhi Leonard Hid From Spurs Execs When They Checked Up On Him In New York – Report

We all know things have gone about as sour as a sack of lemons between Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs.

And yet we still don’t know a whole lot about what’s actually gone down behind the scenes.

It’s that mysterious element which has made this whole thing all the more compelling.

On Thursday, however, we were given insight into quite the juicy little detail, courtesy of ESPN’s Mike Wright.

Appearing on the Back to Back podcast, Wright was prompted by Bleacher Report’s Tom Haberstroh to discuss the Leonard saga and came forward with this:

“I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’m gonna say it because Kawhi is about to be outta there,” Wright said.

“There was a point during his rehab process in New York that some of the Spurs brass went out to see him…

“As soon as those guys arrived at the building, Kawhi’s people grabbed him and sequestered him to another part of the building. And so the Spurs’ people couldn’t even see him.

“These are the types of things that are going on that people don’t necessarily know about.”

What’s even crazier than the story itself is Wright implying that it’s only the tip of the iceberg.

Imagine what it’ll be like when the rest of the details come out.

This is going to make for one hell of a 30 for 30.
